Lines and wrinkles: understanding your concern
A line that appears with expression, a crease visible at rest and fine surface texture are different features. A consultation helps establish which matters most to you and what a realistic plan could involve.
Forehead lines
Horizontal forehead lines often become visible when you raise your eyebrows. Some soften when your forehead relaxes; others remain visible at rest. Sarah considers movement, brow position and the creases themselves before discussing suitable options.
Frown lines
The vertical lines between the eyebrows may appear during expression, at rest or both. Their presence does not mean you are unhappy or angry. Your consultation considers movement and depth; this page is not a recommendation to have filler between the eyebrows.
Crow’s feet
These lines spread from the outer corners of the eyes when you smile or squint. Expression lines are assessed separately from dryness, fine crinkling and concerns beneath the eye. If your priority is puffiness, a hollow or dark circles, start with our under-eye concerns guide.
Fine lines and skin texture
Shallow surface lines can become more noticeable with dryness and changes in skin elasticity. They differ from a deep fold or a change in facial volume. Skincare and sun protection may form part of the discussion before considering a procedure.
Matching options to your goal
For lines associated with expression, start with an individual consultation. Sarah will explain suitable options and their limitations. Any treatment requiring a prescription needs an appropriate clinical assessment, and a consultation does not guarantee treatment.
For selected skin-texture concerns, the discussion may include microneedling, a NeoStrata peel or skin boosters. Plinest polynucleotides is another separate skin-quality service. These options have different aims, procedures and evidence; they are not interchangeable or a list of treatments everyone needs.
What improvement is realistic?
Explain where you see the lines, how long they have been present and whether you also notice dryness or sensitivity. A useful plan sets a specific goal and a review point. Complete removal is not a realistic promise, and treatment does not stop normal ageing.
Discuss possible side effects, recovery, the full course cost and whether a simpler approach would meet your needs. You can take time to consider the options.
