You can discuss concerns such as uneven-looking skin tone, texture and fine lines. A peel is not suitable for every skin type or concern, and results vary. Tell Sarah about your skincare routine, recent cosmetic treatments, allergies, medicines and any history of skin reactions. YOUR CONSULTATION Sarah, a practising HCPC-registered paramedic, will discuss your goals, medical history, medicines, allergies and previous treatments. Tell her if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have an active skin problem. Suitability, alternatives, possible complications, aftercare and the full cost of any proposed course should be discussed before you decide to proceed. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTERWARDS? Stinging, redness, sensitivity and peeling can occur. Recovery depends on the peel used and your skin; visible peeling is not a measure of how well a treatment has worked. Complications such as pigment changes and scarring are possible. Ask for preparation and aftercare instructions before your appointment, including suitable sun protection and when to restart active skincare.
