Thinning hair: assessment and options in Wirral
A widening parting, increased shedding and a distinct bald patch are different concerns. Understanding the cause comes before choosing a scalp treatment.
Start by understanding the cause
Hair loss can have several causes, including inherited patterns, illness, stress and iron deficiency. If you are concerned, see your GP to establish what may be causing it before choosing a commercial hair treatment. Cosmetic scalp services are not suitable for every type of hair loss.
What to bring to your consultation
Tell Sarah when you first noticed the change, whether it has been gradual or sudden, and which areas are affected. Bring details of any GP assessment, medicines, previous treatments and scalp symptoms. This helps the discussion focus on your particular pattern of thinning rather than choosing a product by name.
Scalp treatments available at Paramed
After the cause has been assessed, Sarah can explain which, if any, of these services may be relevant:
-
PRP for hair — a scalp treatment using a preparation from your own blood. Discuss the evidence, proposed course and how your response would be reviewed.
-
Plinest Hair polynucleotides — an injectable scalp option. Ask about the product, evidence and limitations for your type of thinning.
-
Scalp microneedling — an option to assess against your scalp condition and wider treatment plan.
-
Hair microneedling with infusions — discuss the exact formulation, its intended use and whether the evidence supports including it in your plan.
These are separate services, not a package everyone needs. The treatment pages explain each appointment in more detail.
How progress would be reviewed
Before starting, agree the change you hope to assess, when to review it, the proposed number of sessions and the total cost. A review should consider your response before deciding whether further treatment is worthwhile. No procedure can guarantee regrowth, and medical treatment or referral may be the more appropriate next step.
Do I need to choose PRP or polynucleotides before booking?
No. Choose a consultation if you are unsure. Bring your diagnosis or assessment history so Sarah can explain relevant options without assuming that one treatment suits every cause of thinning.
